The Truck-Pal has been painstakingly designed for strength, stability, and safety. Product specifications were developed and tested by one of the nation's premier structural engineers. Made with an innovative tri-fold design, it allows for compact storage to a size of 17" x 16" x 5". This product has universal application for most brands and models of pickups, up to and including one ton 4-wheel drive units. The maximum tailgate height for Truck-Pal is 38 inches. It can also be mounted on trucks that have a pickup bed cover. |

The unit mounts securely to the inside of the truck tailgate with four (4) self-drilling/tapping screws. These screws are designed for maximum holding strength in sheet metal applications. They are epoxy coated, and incorporate a square drive head which provides for a high level of theft prevention. Since the Truck-Pal unit is designed to mount near the outside edge of the tailgate, the side of the pickup truck bed is used for rock-solid stability when climbing up or down the ladder.
The Truck-Pal components are strong. The hinges are stamped from high-strength steel, formed to exacting tolerances, and plated with industrial zinc for long lasting protection. The patent-pending hinge design is the key to the unit folding in such a compact manner. The aluminum components of the assembly are extruded from 6005A-T6 alloy which is extremely strong while allowing the unit to flex. The ladder assembly has undergone extensive testing and is duty rated at 300 pounds.
